Alan Erlich, CBC-TV producer, accepts the 1970 Michener Award from the late Roland Michener, Governor General from 1967-1974. The Award was presented Monday, November 8, 1971, at Rideau Hall, Ottawa.
CBC-TV along with the Financial Post were honoured for 'The Charter Revolution', a collaborative study of the air charter business. A four-page section in the Post was tied in with a CBC television special and gave public exposure of the dangerous developments in the air charter revolution and the impact on the travel industry.
The Michener Award judges' decisions are heavily influenced by the degree of public benefit generated by the print and broadcast projects submitted for consideration.
